Owl Studios is a digital design and web development studio founded by myself and Meagan Fisher. We've combined our years of experience designing and building award-winning websites, products, brands, campaigns and design systems to create an exciting partnership. Forged in Brooklyn, NYC and London, England. We're now a remote studio based in Winter Park, Florida. We take on projects of all sizes, from web design and build, to product, branding and system design. We also travel to do workshops and talk at design events, internationally.
As two designer/developers with a wealth of experience, we want our experience to do the talking. So, rather than present a bunch of case studies, we opted for a simple, fun introduction to who we are, what we do, a little personal info to keep it human and friendly (that's what we're about!), and link out to the places online where we do showcase what we can do.

Owl Studios represents a bold, exciting and positive step back into the creative world of freelance for me, and my partner. The fun, quirky layout and playful animations are all reflective of our personality, and approach to our work and life.
In my article, Breathing life into digital products, I write about opportunities to have fun with your brand. The Owl Studios brand mark was the perfect opportunity to do this! Oh, and the owl is named Waddle! Here's why...
Animating the owl was 'simply' done with CSS and a PNG. Learn more about Waddle, and how I built this here.
Animation of content as you scroll the page helps to draw focus to elements and content. It also elevates the experience. And, Owl Studios is in-part a web development shop. So, it's good to show-off a bit of what we can do! ;)
This was never intended to be a portfolio website. As two designer/developers with a wealth of experience, we want our experience to do the talking. So, rather than present a bunch of case studies, we opted for an insight into our backgrounds, a little personal info to keep it human and friendly (that's what we're about!), and links to the places online where we do showcase what we can do.
As you scroll the page, the background-color changes from white to green. We like how this breaks up the monotony of scrolling and focusses on a different type of content. We know how little time people spend taking in content on websites, so we keep the info short, simple and easy to digest.
