Hello. I’m a designer who codes. I strive to create simple, original, and impactful user experiences. I take on B2C and B2B projects of all sizes; from web design and build to product and system design. I’ve led the design and creative direction of products, teams, and design systems. I've been a VP of Design. I'm the author of Laying the Foundations. And I'm now a freelance web designer and developer based in Los Angeles. Please do say hello — I look forward to hearing about your company and project.
Club of the Waves is a labour of love I founded back in 2006 and recently rebooted in 2018. It's an award-winning, international showcase of artists and photographers whose work focusses on surfing and surf culture. As a founder and curator, I built the world's largest community for surf art. Professionally, it's been the backbone of my career for a long time. Personally, it’s one of the things I’m most proud of. Please, visit the site and have a look around. P.S. The art on the right is by Erik Abel. View case study.
Between 2014 and 2018 I took a break from freelance, dipping my toes into the corporate in-house world, where I led the design and creative direction of products, teams, and design systems at Behance (Adobe) and WeWork in New York City. At Behance I was the creative director and solo product designer of Adobe Portfolio (view case studies). And at WeWork I established their digital brand guidelines, which led to me leading the design and documentation of two design systems (view case studies).
I’ve been designing and building websites for 20 years, you can view more projects here
